Canon EOS R6 vs R6 Mark II (Used): What You Gain by Paying More

On Canon’s own spec pages, the R6 Mark II has more effective pixels (24.2 vs 20.1 million), a much faster electronic shutter (about 40 vs 20 shots per second) and a higher listed battery figure. Both use the RF mount, have two card slots and cover ISO 100–102,400. If you do not need the extra resolution or electronic-shutter speed, the original R6 is the cheaper route to the same system.

Models at a glance

Illustrations show the product type, not the specific model. Figures are the manufacturers’ published specifications for new units; “n/c” means we did not find an official figure.

Good fit if

  • You are choosing between the two used bodies for Canon RF lenses.

Not a fit if

  • You need a feature this table does not cover — check Canon’s full specifications.

Who should pick which

Avoid mix-ups in search results

Searching “Canon EOS R6” can also return Mark II listings, and the reverse. Check that the title and the seller’s photos show the exact name on the body. Our R6 search link excludes “Mark II” terms, but eBay search is not a guarantee — read each listing.

Used-body checks

See the full used camera checklist. The Canon manuals and specification pages we read do not state a rated shutter life, so we quote none; it is Not confirmed. Canon’s manual says the R6 Mark II’s [Battery info] screen shows the number of shots taken with the current battery, and that count resets when the battery is recharged. It is therefore not a total shutter count. The same screen shows a three-level battery recharge performance indicator, so you can ask the seller for a photo of it.

We don’t show individual listings, prices or stock here: they change by the hour and we haven’t checked any. Current listings are on eBay — the buttons below open an eBay search limited to Buy It Now items (remove that filter on eBay to see auctions).

Search results can include items for parts, empty boxes and accessories. Seller descriptions are the seller’s own statements; we have not verified them.
